Asia 66: Lá Thư Từ Chiến Trường 2 – Cánh Hoa Thời Loạn

Asia Entertainment (commonly known as Trung Tâm Asia to the Vietnamese community) is back this summer with Asia 66 along with the theme “Lá Thư Từ Chiến Trường 2 – Cánh Hoa Thời Loạn” (which roughly translates to Letters from the Frontline 2 – Women of the War Time, referring to the Vietnam War). This musical variety show will be taking place on Saturday July 3rd, 2010 at the Long Beach Convention Center (Long Beach Terrace Theater) at 7:00PM. Tickets price varies from as low as $25 to as high as a couple hundreds of dollars (this is my estimate from when I last went to an Asia Entertainment show in 2004). According to Asia Entertainment, the theme Lá Thư Từ Chiến Trường 2 is one of the highly requested themes by the viewers. Asia Entertainment is taking the opportunity of the United States Independence Day to invite viewers from all across the globe to gather at Little Saigon (the “capital” of Vietnamese refugees from the Vietnam War) while doing the DVD taping of Lá Thư Từ Chiến Trường 2 - Cánh Hoa Thời Loạn. This event is the opportunity for Asia Entertainment and its viewers to thank the mothers, wives, and lovers of the soldiers under the Republic of Vietnam army (Việt Nam Cộng Hoà). Below is a poem dedicated to this event:

*Yêu nhau trong thời chinh chiến

*Những cuộc tình mong manh

*Những cuộc tình không tương lai

- Một tấm lòng thủy chung,

- Một đời hy sinh,

- Một đời cho tình yêu …

… and it roughly translates to (the poem sounds a LOT better in Vietnamese):
